Questions about ordering

1. Can I buy DETOMASO watches and straps in stores?

DETOMASO is currently focused entirely on online sales, so you can only buy our watches online in the DETOMASO online store or from our online sales partners. However, we would also be happy to advise you by phone or help you by email at: service@detomaso-watches.com.

2. How can I order a watch or a strap?

You can find all models and straps here in the store. When you make a selection, a new page will open. On this page, you can take a closer look at the product you're interested in and see all the details again, such as the watch case and the color of the dial. After you've selected your options, click "ADD TO CART" and then follow the steps for shipping and payment.

3. I have a voucher code – where can I enter it?

You have a coupon code? Great! After you've chosen something nice, you can simply click on "ADD TO CART." On the next page, you'll find the "Voucher Code" field. Enter your code in the field and click on "APPLY."

4. How do I know that my order was successful?

When the order is completed, you'll receive a confirmation by email. Make sure that your email address is correct. Typos happen quickly, but then you don't receive a confirmation email. If you haven't heard anything from us within 24 hours, send an email to service@detomaso-watches.com with your name and shipping address. Our Customer Service will handle your order right away!

5. How do I know if my order has been shipped?

When your order is prepared for shipment, i.e., when it has been packed, you will receive an invoice by email. The order is then handed over to the shipper. You will receive a separate email from the shipper with a tracking link. You can use this link to see exactly where your package is at the moment.

6. How much is shipping?

There are no shipping costs – DETOMASO takes care of the shipping.

7. How can I have my watch individually engraved?

With some of our watch models, you have the option of customising your watch with an engraving. If your selected watch can be engraved, you will see the "Add engraving" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the first picture on the item page. Here you can type in names, dates or a short text, for example, and have a preview displayed. Then click on "DONE" and add the watch to the shopping basket. Your engraving text will be shown there once again.

8. Why can't I add an engraving to some watches?

Some watch models already have an engraving on the back of the case, for example a globe and the unique item number. Unfortunately, there is no more room for personal engravings. Engraving is also not possible on our VIAGGIO AUTOMATIC because of its glass back.

9. What do I have to bear in mind when engraving?

Watches with personal engraving cannot be exchanged or returned. Of course, you are free to choose the engraving text. However, if it violates our values and contains racist, anti-Semitic or otherwise discriminatory content, we will not process your request and will cancel it.

10. How long is the delivery time?

The approximate delivery time is shown on the product page under the "ADD TO CART" button. You can also see the delivery time for your watch in your shopping cart and in your order confirmation.

11. I still want to think about whether to buy the watch. Do you think it might be sold out the next day?

Some models may be available for longer times than other models are. Our standard models are usually not sold out. Our Limited Editions, on the other hand, can sell out within a short period of time.

12. What's about the Limited Editions? Will they be for sale again?

No, the number of pieces of our Limited Editions is limited. However, we're always collecting new ideas for our next special models.

13. Can I try on the products first and return them if necessary?

Since the try-on takes place at your home, you can take a close look at our products and proudly show them to your friends. If, for whatever reason, you don't like them after all, you can return them to us within 30 days. However, please note that we charge a return fee of £3,88 , which will be deducted from the refundable purchase price. This is to consider our environment by raising awareness of delivery routes and minimizing unnecessary returns. It goes without saying that the product must be in new condition for a return. Simply write us an email, and we'll send you a return label. Package the product just as you received it, then affix the return label, take it to the post office or the preferred DHL parcel station, and bid farewell.

By the way, the same applies to our straps. However, please be aware that they may bend easily due to their nature. Nevertheless, we insist on the new condition for returns, so it's better not to experiment too much with the strap.

14. Can I cancel my order right away?

If you haven't received a shipping confirmation yet, please contact Customer Service by phone or by email at service@detomaso-watches.com. We will then try to stop the process. But if your order is already on the way, just wait for the package to arrive and then send it back. Send us an email and we'll send you a return label. You can also refuse acceptance and the shipper will send the package back to us with a note.

15. What should I do if my order is damaged or defective?

DETOMASO watches and straps are sent on their way only after a comprehensive quality control. If something is still not right, please send an email to service@detomaso-watches.com or call us. We will find a solution together with you.

16. How can I tell if you have received my return?

When we receive your return, we'll send you a confirmation email. Sometimes this can take a few days. If you haven't heard anything from us after 14 days, please check if the email ended up in your spam folder. If you haven't received an email from us, please email us at service@detomaso-watches.com.

If you are making a return, please be sure to keep the DHL receipt for the return. If the package gets lost in transit, it can be easily retrieved with the package number on the receipt.

17. What payment methods are available?

DETOMASO offers you different payment methods. You can find an overview here!

18. What do I need to know about VAT tax?

If you order within the EU, the prices are as indicated, including VAT. If you're outside the EU, you'll receive your DETOMASO watches and straps without the German 19% VAT. To find out if you have to pay taxes in your country, please check your country's tax regulations.

19. How long is the warranty on watches and straps? And what does the warranty cover?

Extensive quality controls ensure that the watch has been checked prior to leaving the manufacturer. Unfortunately, material defects cannot always be avoided. If there is an issue with your new watch, please contact our Customer Service, within the warranty period.

Temporex Lifestyle GmbH offers a 2 year manufacturer's warranty worldwide from the time of product purchase, covering any material or manufacturing defects. The warranty is applicable only to the operational functionality of the movement and build of the watch. The warranty does not cover damages or attritions to batteries, case, glass, or strap that may be caused by improper use (accidents, glass or water damage, displaced crown). We will resolve manufacturing defects free of charge during the warranty period. If the watch cannot be repaired, it will be replaced by a comparable model.

In the case of a warranty claim, please contact our Customer Service via email: service@detomaso-watches.com, so we may send you a return slip.

Questions about our watches

20. What materials are the watch cases made of?

We use only high-quality materials for all our products. For the case, we use sandblasted stainless steel, or more precisely, 316L surgical steel. This is especially pure, stable, anti-allergenic steel that offers exceptional wearing comfort. Our automatic watches are protected by sapphire glass and all our other watches are protected by sapphire-tempered mineral glass. This means that the glass has been coated with a layer of highly resistant synthetic sapphire glass. This ensures proper visibility in every situation and that the glass only scratches when exposed to rough external conditions.

21. What are the dimensions of the watch?

You can find the exact dimensions of our models on the corresponding product page under "SPECIFICATIONS".

22. Where are DETOMASO watches made?

DETOMASO watches reflect the momentum of different cultures and nations: designed in the heart of Europe, in Germany, equipped with precision movements made by the Japanese manufacturers MIYOTA and SEIKO, as well as with finest leather straps from our manufacturing partner in Italy. Inspired and driven by the idea of personal freedom, this mix is a guarantee for extraordinary design and the absolute highest quality.

23. Which movements are actually used?

Depending on the model, DETOMASO watches are equipped with a high-quality movement from the Japanese manufacturer SEIKO or MIYOTA. These movements are extremely precise and durable.

24. Who are DETOMASO watches made for and how big are the watches?

Anyone – regardless of gender or age – can wear our watches. We offer the classic 39 mm size for narrower wrists, and we also offer models with a diameter of 45 mm.

You can find the exact size of each watch on the product page under "Technical Data" and "Case."

39 mm ARMONIA CHRONOGRAPH and HERITAGE CHRONOGRAPH
40 mm PARTENZA
42 mm SORPASSO CHRONOGRAPH, VENTURE CHRONOGRAPH, ADESSO CHRONOGRAPH, and VIAGGIO AUTOMATIC
43 mm D10 CHRONOGRAPH and SAN REMO DIVER
45 mm FIRENZE CHRONOGRAPH

25. I lost my manual – how can I get a another one?

You can find the instructions for any of our watches under Downloads.

26. What is an automatic watch?

Unlike most models, an automatic watch is not powered by a battery-operated quartz movement. Inside, there is a highly complex movement, made up of wheels, pulleys and springs. Wearing the watch causes an oscillating weight on the inside to move, which supplies the necessary energy to the system, making the watch tick. And this is what makes an automatic watch a valuable collector's item.

27. How do I start my automatic watch?

The watch charges itself as you move around while wearing. However, if you don't want to wait or if you haven't been wearing your watch for a while, you can also wind it by hand. It has a crown in the normal position. It takes approximately 30 clockwise rotations to fully wind the watch. Right before the watch is fully wound, you'll feel some resistance. Please keep turning the crown a little while longer. You can also find the instructions for your automatic watch under Downloads.

28. How often do I have to wind my automatic watch?

It depends on how often you wear it. The watch keeps running because of the energy supplied to the movement when you wear it.  When you're not wearing it, the power reserve information in the specifications tells you how long the power in the movement will last if the watch is not moved. The VIAGGIO AUTOMATIC has a 40-hour power reserve. This is how long the watch will run when it's at rest and not being worn.

29. What is a watch revision and when should I have it done?

A slight variation in the accuracy of automatic watches is normal. However, the accuracy can vary more over time, as the movement may begin to show signs of wear. In the worst case, this can even damage the movement. For this reason, we recommend having your automatic watch revisioned after 5 to 7 years – even if the watch is actually running smoothly. During revision, the movement is taken apart and each component is cleaned and checked for wear. If necessary, the parts are replaced. And then the oil in the movement is changed – and after this, the watch will run like new again! We can revision your watch in our watchmaker workshop. Please contact our Customer Service. When you do, our watchmakers will make you an offer for the watch revision. (Contact: service@detomaso-watches.com)

30. What is a chronograph and how does it work?

Chronograph is a watch with stop function. The stop function is controlled by the two buttons on the side, called pushers. To learn more about the features of our chronographs, you can read the instructions of the respective watch. All instructions can also be found under downloads and you can watch this video to learn about the features of our SORPASSO CHRONOGRAPH.

31. The chronograph hands are not in the starting position! What should I do?

The chronograph second hand doesn't return to the zero position? This can happen if the chronograph has been reset or if the battery has been replaced. If this happens, you should perform a reset. You can read about how to do this in the instruction manuals for the corresponding watch or you can watch this video.

32. How do I make the Superluminova glow?

Some of our models are equipped with Superluminova. This is a glow-in-the-dark coating. This luminous material needs to be charged first. It can be charged in either artificial light or natural light. However, the effectiveness can vary according to the charging time, the intensity of the light and the angle of exposure.

33. Are DETOMASO watches waterproof?

You can find the exact information about water resistance on the product page under the specifikations. Most DETOMASO watches have a water resistance of up to 5 or 10 bar. Water resistance of up to 5 bar means that the watch can withstand water splashes, so you don't have to take it off when you wash your hands. If a watch has a water resistance of 10 bar, you can wear it while showering, bathing and swimming. Attention: you can only dive with watches that have a water resistance of 20 bar or more. Our exception is the SAN REMO DIVER, which has a water resistance of 30 bar. With all watches, however, you should keep in mind that they are more likely to wear out if they come into frequent contact with water. Leather straps especially don't stand up well to moisture.

34. How long does the battery last?

On average, your watch will run for 1 to 1,5 years on a new battery.

35. How do I change the battery?

If the battery needs to be changed, you can take advantage of our maintenance offer and send your watch to our watchmaker's workshop (contact: service@detomaso-watches.com). You can also have your battery replaced at a store that specializes in this type of service. We recommend not trying to change the battery yourself, as fingerprints and dust can damage your watch when you open it.

36. What should I do if my watch is damaged?

DETOMASO watches are designed to give you pleasure for a long time and are therefore built to last. If your watch does get damaged, send an email with a description of the problem to service@detomaso-watches.com. Our Customer Service will then explain what to do next.

37. What's special about your packaging?

DETOMASO watches are delivered in high-quality packaging. This includes the protective outer box, the product information and instructions, and of course, the warranty certificate. However, besides ensuring that the watch arrives in good condition, it is also important to use environmentally friendly packaging. Therefore, DETOMASO uses only paper and cardboard and does not use any plastic. Furthermore, we ship climate neutral via DHL GoGreen.

Questions about our watch straps

38. Can you change the wristbands on DETOMASO watches?

DETOMASO watches are designed to allow the straps to be changed. So, you can select your wristband according to your mood, the occasion or to match the rest of your outfit.

39. How do you change the strap?

There is a small pin on the back of both halves of the wristband. By carefully pushing the pin inward, you can easily remove the strap and attach a different wristband. This video shows how to change the strap.

40. What materials are the wristbands made of?

The leather straps from DETOMASO are made of 100% vegetable tanned cowhide. They are lovingly made by hand in a small manufactory in Italy. Our mesh and steel bracelets are made of high quality 316L surgical steel.

41. Why is vegetable tanning special?

Because only vegetable tanning agents, and no heavy metals, chrome or other harmful substances are used to treat the leather. And no additional chemical sealers are used. This is good for the environment and makes the leather particularly non-allergenic. Vegetable tanning also retains the natural breathability of the leather. This results in exceptional wearing comfort. By the way, each strap is truly unique: because it's a natural product, each strap looks a little different from the other. The leather also acquires an individual patina over time, giving the watch even more character.

42. Can the leather stain?

In exceptional cases only, the strap may give off some color when it is very wet and high pressure is applied to it. You should take the wristband off when showering, bathing or in particularly sweaty situations. As a precaution, if the strap does get wet, keep it away from clothing and let it dry. If it has stained your skin, you can be sure that only completely safe dyes have been used in its manufacture and that you can remove any staining with a little soap and water.

43. What is the length of the strap?

The length of the wristbands can be adjusted. The leather straps are 20 cm long and have holes for the clasp and work basically like a belt. The length of mesh bracelets can be adjusted by using the clasp. So, the mesh bracelets are between 16 and 22 cm long. This means that the watch will fit almost any wrist. The instruction manuals and this video explain how to adjust the length of your mesh bracelets.

44. How do I close my mesh bracelet?

To close your mesh wristband, attach the hooks on the upper part of the clasp into the bar on the lower part. Then press the flap firmly until you hear a click and insert the small bracket above the lower part. In this video you can see how to adjust the length and how close the bracelet.

45. How do I find the right size watchbands, and rings?

To find your size, measure the circumference of your wrist or finger with a tape measure or ribbon. Use these charts to determine your appropriate size:

Size chart bracelets
Size chart rings

46. What do I do if the steel bracelet doesn't fit me?

You should have the wristband shortened by a professional, if possible. Please contact our customer service. (Contact: service@detomaso-watches.com)

If you're familiar with working with bracelets, you can also remove the links of our steel wristband yourself. The links are secured with pins, which can be pushed out with either a pin remover or pin punch and a watchmaker's hammer. You can find these tools in various online stores. However, you should be very careful not to scratch your watch.

47. How long do your wristbands last?

This depends on many factors, such as how often your wear your watch and how often the strap comes into contact with sweat. A leather strap should last at least one to two years, after which it should be replaced. And even though our wristbands are very durable, certain signs of aging and wear are inevitable.

48. Can I also use straps from other manufacturers?

Very few wristbands are equipped with an interchangeable mechanism, but any watchmaker or jeweler can quickly put a new strap on your watch.
